About
Nakul Nandhakumar was a Visiting Student Research Intern at the Integrated Photonics Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Yating Wan at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).
Nakul is a fourth-year undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree (majoring in Computer Engineering) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with GPA of 4.0/4.0, and is expected to graduate in 2025. At UCSD, Nakul assists with research on photonic reservoir computers in the Ultrafast and Nanoscale Optics (UNO) Group under Dr. Yeshaiahu Fainman and senior Ph.D. student Prabhav Gaur. Nakul also has done internship in Intel (Jun-Sep, 2022) and UCSB (Jun-Sep, 2020).
He will continue his Ph.D. study in UCSD in 2025.
Research interests
Nakul’s research interests are in silicon photonics and optical reservoir computing.
